Pilates - Happy New Year!

Well, what a year it’s been for us all in so many different ways! This time last year we had no idea really how the coming year was going to shape up! I hope that you've had a good Christmas break and have been able to connect with loved ones in some way, whether in person or online.
I'm sorry that we can't get back to in person classes at either my Equipment Studio or at Place Eight Wellness just yet but we can keep Zooming for now!
Thank you 🙏for sharing the journey with me and being in our Pilates bubble, whether you’ve stuck with me throughout or dipped in and out either online, outdoors, studio, Place Eight Wellness or whether it’s been a while since we’ve connected - the last in person classes at Stoke Hammond Village Hall, Aspley Guise and Dunstable studios at the end of March seems so long ago!
Although it's been a tough year I think we should all congratulate ourselves of how resilient we've been throughout.
Here's a quick run down of highlights for me. Please share yours too if you wish!
💙Opened up my own Pilates Equipment Studio in Great Brickhill in February - then closed/opened around lockdowns!
💙Rapidly transitioned matwork classes to Zoom during the first lockdown in March which was a huge adjustment for us all
💙Built up an extensive library of Zoom class recordings on demand via Vimeo - 281 to date!
💙Did first livestream charity classes on Instagram and Facebook which was terrifying but for a good cause!
💙Re-branded my business in my own name and created my own website (huge thanks to @Agnieszka Young for the tech support)!
💙Held special outdoor classes in the beautiful space at Westfield Farm over the summer holidays
💙Moved to new matwork location at wonderful Place Eight Wellness in Swanbourne from September
💙Supported 3 fabulous Body Control Pilates trainee teachers to become fully qualified themselves
💙My Neal's Yard Remedies Organics sideline has been a huge support while the studio has been closed and I've been able to use the account to fundraise for local causes
💙My fabulous clients have helped to raise £680 for Willen Hospice and £420 for the Winter Night Shelter MK this year from donations for gratitude classes I've offered
Can’t remember where I heard this but it seems appropriate: “2020 was not the year we had everything we ever wanted but the year we learnt to appreciate everything we already had”.
Whether you're a past or present client, or colleague, thank you all for your support over the past year whether it's a connection in person at class or online interaction and inspiration.🙏 It's a pleasure to have you in class and see the that your Pilates practice can make. I've loved hearing how aches and pains have improved or even gone completely, how everyday tasks and range of motion is so much easier.
For me the true power of Pilates is in the difference it can make to our lives outside of class and help to keep us doing whatever else we love to do.
Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year, hope it's a better one for us all. Please keep doing whatever makes your heart sing without caring what anyone else thinks about it!
You're already amazing so continue to take care of yourself so you can keep shining and sparkling away!
Take care and stay safe,
Louisa 💙x
