Hi! I'm Louisa.  

Pilates & Wellness Specialist. Mama. Wife. Fussy Vegetarian. 80s music lover. Hippy at heart.

As a Pilates Specialist with a varied background in Sports Massage Therapy, Human Resources, Publishing and Retail, I’ve had the honour of helping hundreds of people like you since 2009 learn to move better and feel better, working with me in person or online. Empowering them to rediscover the power of their mind and body connection and providing the tools to tune inwards and address their needs.

Thanks for a great class today (as always). It's funny, because the roller always feels a bit weird, but it obviously does a really good job of self-massage. I went in with two twinging knees and one twinging elbow, and now nothing's twinging. My back feels much better, too, and I hadn't even realised that that was out of sorts! The joys of ageing...

When I first joined I was in a lot of pain but had such fear, that anything movement would make my back worse. It was a huge step for me to even turn up and find the Stoke Hammond hall. You made it easy with your warmth, care and positivity, you made me so welcome and also felt safe that I could do more and build the strength in my back.

From our brilliant group where everyone had their space and a laugh, to the magic of the sunshine in the field and being with people again, to feeling of belonging and achievement on the screen, you have been so brilliant at adapting and still showing the care and inclusion for everyone.  Also The resource library is huge now and is just a brilliant addition to the work we do in sessions. Throughout the years you have helped so many people. You make everyone feel included, not judged and its like big a Louisa Pilates family, and that's what I missed when I was unable to join the sessions. Thank you for everything you have done it really has changed my life, you are awesome.

What a wonderful morning of Pilates and nutritional information. You both made us all so welcome with the delicious organic fruit drink and teas - even the water tasted really good. To be able to have the extended Pilates class outside in the sunshine was really beneficial - physically and mentally. When I came home, I felt as if I'd been away for a whole weekend of relaxation rather than just a few hours.

I hope that you may run more sessions like this in the future - it was extra special and I really feel I benefited enormously. Thank you both so much.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day attending the wellness event at Place Eight. A morning of Pilates on the decking of a stunning location over-looking the English countryside was just what I needed. Being a beginner to Pilates, I found Louisa to be extremely knowledgeable and easy to follow. She tailored the class to meet everyone’s needs and had clearly read everyone’s notes before the class had started. The talk from Louise that followed regarding gut health was really informative and has definitely got me thinking about what I put into my body. Lots of helpful tips to try out that won’t break the bank. A great introduction to Pilates which has left me wanting to explore more.

I was recommend to Louisa by a patient with hyper-mobility who had found her classes really helpful. Over the last 3 years Louisa has realigned my shoulders and increased my range of movement and mobility. As a physical therapist my shoulders take on a lot of work! I look forward to my Monday class immensely, it’s a great start to my week. Louisa is experienced, dedicated to all her clients, classes are full of great strength and stretch exercises which you can achieve at any level of ability.

Louisa is an amazing Pilates teacher. Would highly recommend her. I started with her beginners course and finished the 4 weeks feeling really confident and understood the reasoning behind the moves, as well as how to do them correctly. Louisa allows you to work at your own pace and will tailor the movements to your needs and prop availability. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Louisa is a great teacher and takes an individual interest in everyone, remembering specific problems and suggesting individual solutions. During the lock down she has gone to extra lengths to ensure that we can join her on video or practise at home with on line help and it has all worked supremely well. And she's a really nice person too!

My posture, range of movement and muscle strength have improved dramatically since I started attending these classes 2 years ago. Louisa makes everyone feel super comfortable and always ensures that all sequences can be adapted to the individual, which is great for people with injuries or illnesses. Just a note to say I thoroughly enjoyed zooming on Wednesday evening and felt so good after doing the exercises!
The use of the roller has given me so much more release in certain areas, especially threading the needle! I’ve done it both evenings since and my back feels great.

I thought the zoom class worked really well and I did feel like I was in the room with you. I can only imagine how challenging it must be for you to keep your eyes on everyone from a distance but I think you’ve done this really well, offered so many cues and mods for everyone.

I started coming to Louisa’s Matwork Pilates classes some four years ago. I have found that I have increased balance, flexibility and positive energy. Louisa is a constant professional, always pushing us to achieve more.  Although I was sceptical about Studio sessions with the Reformer and Cadillac at first, I thought I would give it a try. It took a few sessions before the exercises clicked. I can now stretch further, my painful hips have improved, in fact, I love the positive stretches I can achieve on the reformer. When I’m doing these exercises, my hips feel like they’re at a party!

I was recommended to come to Pilates following a sciatic nerve problem last year. This had left me with several areas of weakness which I was determined to address. This week I went back to the Chiropractor for my MOT ! She was pleased that I had taken her advice but even more pleased to report, after a very thorough examination, that my wonky pelvis was now level, she could feel the improvement in my core area plus a noticeable improvement in my left gluteal muscle all of which she put down to my Pilates classes. I was not surprised as I was feeling so much better. So grateful for your help.
